Chapter 11: The Yoga of the Vision of the Universal Form
Verse 11:13

Meaning

Sanjaya spoke

Pāndu's son witnessed the entire cosmos, with all its countless realms, nestled within the body of the God of gods. (11:13)

Commentary

The universe is divided into various realms, including planets, stars, galaxies, and universes, as well as individuals and objects, living and nonliving entities. In addition to the material universe, there exist ethereal realms of divine beings, which are not composed of gross matter.

The reflection of this episode is also found in the Rām-charit-mānas: “In each strand of the Lord’s body hair, there are countless cosmoses.” (“Rom-rom prati lāge koti-koti brahmānda.”) ^1
