Chapter 12: The Yoga of Devotion
Verse 12:11

Meaning

Supreme God Krishna spoke

If, however, you are unable to follow the spiritual path {of working for Me}, then with self-control, renounce {attachment to} the fruits of all your actions. (12:11)

Commentary

In this verse, God has given a “secular” version of the spiritual path. Those who are atheists, skeptics, or agnostics can also follow this path, which will provide them with a shield against all suffering and may perhaps eventually lead to an unexpected spiritual Self-realization too.

श्रीभगवान् उवाच

अथैतदप्यशक्तोऽसि कर्तुं मद्योगमाश्रितः ।

सर्वकर्मफलत्यागं ततः कुरु यतात्मवान् ॥ 12:11 ॥
