Meaning

Supreme God Krishna spoke

But an action driven by ego, craving, or excessive effort, is said to be grounded in the Passional (Rājasic) Mode. (18:24)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच

यत्तु कामेप्सुना कर्म साहंकारेण वा पुनः ।

क्रियते बहुलायासं तद्राजसमुदाहृतम् ॥ 18:24 ॥

यत् तु काम-इप्सुना कर्म, स-अहङ्कारेण वा पुनः

क्रियते बहुल-आयासम्— तत् 'राजसम्' उदाहृतम्।
