Meaning
Supreme God Krishna spoke
Renouncing prescribed duties is not righteous; such renunciation driven by delusion is considered Ignoble (Tāmasic). (18:7)

श्रीभगवान् उवाच
नियतस्य तु संन्यासः कर्मणो नोपपद्यते ।
मोहात्तस्य परित्यागस्तामसः परिकीर्तितः ॥ 18:7 ॥

नि-यतस्य तु सन्न्यासः कर्मणः न उप-पद्यते।
मोहात् तस्य परि-त्यागः 'तामसः' परि-कीर्तितः।
