Meaning
It remains unclear to me whether it would be more virtuous to fight or to refrain. Nor can I foresee who is going to win. But the idea of killing the sons of Dhritārshtra stands before me, a fate after which I wouldn't wish to live. (2:6)
Commentary
The verse gives us an insight into the essentially non-violent character of Prince Arjuna. God praises the virtue of non-violence as among those that comprise the "divine wealth," enabling one to achieve elevated births, higher realms post-death, or Nirvāna (16:2,5)

न चैतद्विद्मः कतरन्नो गरीयोयद्वा जयेम यदि वा नो जयेयुः ।
यानेव हत्वा न जिजीविषामस्तेऽवस्थिताः प्रमुखे धार्तराष्ट्राः ॥ 2:6 ॥

न च एतत् विद्मः कतरत् नः गरीयः—
यत् वा जयेम, यदि वा नः जयेयुः। यान् एव हत्वा न जिजीविषामः, ते अव-स्थिताः प्र-मुखे धार्तराष्ट्राः।
