Verse 4:22

Meaning

Supreme God Krishna spoke

He who is contented with whatever gain comes his way without craving for it, who has risen beyond inner conflicts, who harbors no feelings of envy, and who remains equanimous in both successes and failures, does not come under the binding effects of his actions {that may cause rebirth}, despite performing all activities (4:22)

Sanskrit

श्रीभगवान् उवाच

यदृच्छालाभसन्तुष्टो द्वन्द्वातीतो विमत्सरः ।

समः सिद्धावसिद्धौ च कृत्वापि न निबध्यते ॥ 4:22 ॥

यदृच्छा लाभ सन्तुष्टः, द्वन्द्व-अतीत: वि-मत्सरः,

समः सिद्धौ-असिद्धौ च, कृत्वा अपि न नि-बध्यते।
