अर्थ
Of the Vrishni lineage, I am Vāsudeva Krishna; among the Pāndavas, I am Dhananjaya (Arjuna); among the great saints, I am {Krishnadvaipāyana Veda} Vyāsa; and among poets, I am Ushanā. (10:37)
टीका
This verse reveals that the speaker, who is communicating through the mouth of Bhagawān Krishna, is the higher force, Brahm, who is one with Krishna, and yet Sri Krishna is just one of His numerous manifestations or Avatāras. For example, Sri Rāma is another such Avatāras of Brahm, God-the-Supreme in His formless aspect.
Krishnadvaipāyana Vedavyāsa is credited with the collection and compilation of the Holy Vedas, as well as the writing of the original Mahābhārata epic, which later saw expansions by unknown authors who added various stories to it over time. The Holy Bhagavad-Gitā is a part of the Mahābhārata, serving as a significant section within the epic. Krishnadvaipāyana Vedavyāsa is also recognized as the author of the Bhāgawata Purāna, regarded as the most prominent among the eighteen main Purāṇas.
